If your MacBook doesn’t turn on or start up
Trythefollowingsuggestionsinorderuntilyourcomputerturnson:
 Makesurethepoweradapterispluggedintothecomputerandintoafunctioning
poweroutlet.Besuretousethe60WMagSafePowerAdapterthatcamewithyour
MacBook.Ifthepoweradapterstopschargingandyoudon’tseetheindicatorlight
onthepoweradapterturnonwhenyoupluginthepowercord,tryunpluggingand
repluggingthepowercordtoreseatit.
 IftheindicatorlightontheMagSafeconnectorisamber,thebatterymightneedto
berecharged.Keepthepoweradapterconnectedandchargethebatterywiththe
computero.Agreenlightindicatesthatthebatteryisfullycharged.
 Iftheproblempersists,resettheMacBookpowermanager(whilestillpreservingyour
les)bypressingtheleftShiftkey,leftOption(alt)key,leftControlkey,andthepower
(®)buttonsimultaneouslyforvesecondsuntilthecomputerrestarts.
 Ifyourecentlyinstalledadditionalmemory,makesurethatitiscorrectlyinstalledand
thatitiscompatiblewithyourcomputer.Seewhetherremovingitandreinstalling
theoldmemoryallowsthecomputertostartup(seepage46).
 Pressthepower(®)buttonandimmediatelyholddowntheCommand(x),Option,
P,andRkeyssimultaneouslyuntilyouhearthestartupsoundasecondtime.This
resetstheparameterRAM(PRAM).
