Putting Your MacBook to Sleep
Ifyou’llbeawayfromyourMacBookforonlyashorttime,putittosleep.Whenthe
computerisinsleep,youcanquicklywakeitandbypassthestartupprocess.
To put your MacBook to sleep, do one of the following:
m Closethedisplay.
m ChooseApple()>Sleepfromthemenubar.
m Pressthepower(®)buttonandclickSleepinthedialogthatappears.
m ChooseApple()>SystemPreferences,clickEnergySaver,andsetasleeptimer.
NOTICE: Waitafewsecondsuntilthesleepindicatorlightstartspulsing(indicating
thatthecomputerisinsleepandtheharddiskhasstoppedspinning)beforeyou
moveyourMacBook.Movingyourcomputerwhiletheharddiskisspinningcan
damageit,causinglossofdataortheinabilitytostartupfromtheharddisk.
