Mac Pro (8x) Basics 9
GSX Parts
Because Mac Pro (8x) is a product conguration of the original Mac Pro, Mac Pro (8x) computers
do not have serial numbers distinct from Mac Pro serial numbers. There is also no separate Mac
Pro (8x) product pull-down list in GSX.
When using a computer’s serial number to look up Mac Pro (8x) parts in GSX, be aware that you
will receive a list of parts for both Mac Pro and Mac Pro (8x). Parts that are unique to Mac Pro (8x)
will have “8x” included at the end of the part description. Parts without “8x” in the description
may be either a) parts unique to the original Mac Pro or b) parts used in both the original Mac
Pro and Mac Pro (8x). To verify that a particular part is used in the Mac Pro (8x), check the GSX
“Notes” eld for the part or the “Exploded View” diagrams in the Views chapter.
