Step 6: Turn on your Mac Pro.
Pressthepowerbutton(®)onthefrontofyourMacPrototurniton.Ifyouhavea
displaythatmustbeturnedonseparately,turnitonbypressingitspowerbutton.If
youconnectedamouse,clickyourmousetoestablishaconnectionwithyourMacPro.
Step 7: Congure your Mac Pro server with Server Assistant.
ThersttimeyouturnonyourMacProwithMacOSXLionServerinstalled,Server
AssistantasksforsomebasicinformationthatLionServerneedsinordertostartup
andconnecttothenetwork.Bereadytoprovidethefollowinginformationtherst
timeyouturnonyourMacPro:
 Anaccountnameandpassword.
 Anorganizationalnamethat’suniqueinyourcompany.
 Ahostname,whichcanbeforyourlocalnetworkonly,foryourlocalnetworkand
VPNaccessfromtheInternet,oranInternethostnameyoupurchasedfromadomain
nameregistrar.
 Detailednetworksettings,includingIPaddress,subnetmask,andDNSservers.The
networksettingsmaybeprovidedbyyourInternetrouteroraserveronyournetwork.
Ifso,itshouldbeconguredtoprovideyourserverthesameIPaddressallthetime
(staticmappingorDHCPreservation).
ForhelpwithServerAssistant,clicktheHelpbuttoninanypane.
YoucansetupMacOSXLionServerremotelyfromanothercomputer.Forinformation,
opentheServerapplicationontheothercomputerandchooseServerHelpfromthe
Helpmenu.
