Use this chapter to set up and manage how a computer with
Mac OS X or Mac OS X Server accesses directory services.
After you congure your directory server, you can customize the advanced settings of
Directory Utility to work with your computer and software applications.

About Advanced Directory Services Settings
You can use the advanced features of Directory Utility (located in Accounts
preferences) to congure NFS mount records, services, and search policies. You can
also use Directory Utility to congure a remote computer.
The following are the advanced features of Directory Utility:
 Connect congures a client computer or server remotely.
 Services congures directory servers that users can access.
 Search Policy congures where the computer searches for user authentication and
contact information.
