.Mac Mail
Some email accounts can be accessed only on your desktop; others require you to
use a browser, so you can’t read or write email when you’re oπ ine. Some ISPs o∂ er
both desktop and web access to email, but they erase your mail from the server after
you open it on your desktop. This means that you can’t see any of your previous email
when you access your account on the web.
A .Mac email account gives you the best of desktop- and browser-based email.
.Mac Mail stores all your mail in a single place; whether you use Mac OS X Mail on your
desktop or access your email through .Mac online, you’ll have the same messages,
attachments, and folders.
Now there’s even more room to store your mail. Individual accounts have 1GB of
storage to share between .Mac Mail and iDisk, while Family Pack memberships include
2GB of shared storage, with upgrades available up to 4GB.
