Xserve Take Apart

Heatsink, Xserve

Note:

This procedure applies to the original Xserve only. The heatsink for Xserve (Slot

Load) and Xserve (Cluster Node) is part of the processor and should not be removed

separately.

Tools

The only tool required for removing the heatsink is a Phillips screwdriver.

Preliminary Steps

Before you begin, open the server and place the bottom housing on a sturdy, ﬂat surface.
