Natural Flat Aperture Grille technology for a geometrically perfect picture with
even less reflection. They feature a unique dark blue casing, non-glare tube and
color-enhancing blue hood (black inside) to ensure consistent lighting conditions throughout the day. And with four USB
ports, one upstream and three downstream, they let you easily connect keyboards, mice and other USB peripherals.
Photon 18blue
Based on LCD technology, the photon 18blue features constant light, rather than
decaying phosphor lit by intermittent electron beams as found in CRTs. Constant
light output minimizes eye strain, as it reduces flicker and loss of light perceived
by the user's eye. The hood reduces undesirable reflection and shadow to a mini-
mum. Wide Viewing Angle technology allows you to see accurate color from vir-
tually any angle –sides, top or bottom – without image distortions.
Optional blue eye calibrator for the electronblue Series
The blue eye carries out hardware calibration through a unique video cable that allows a two-way flux between the Macintosh and the
LaCie monitor. This specific connection enables the monitor and the CPU to exchange information, allowing individual calibration of the
red, green and blue guns inside the monitor. The blue eye first adjusts each of the electron’s guns individually until they reach an optimum
setting. It then creates a ColorSync profile which can be used in all ColorSync-compatible applications. The hardware calibration process,
coupled with the effects of the hood and non-reflective casing, guarantees the most accurate and consistent colors, as well as the widest
dynamic range on the monitor.
