the controlled conversion from colors
to gray. Gives you the ability to clearly
distinguish adjacent shades of grey.
◆ GANE (Grain and Noise Elimination)
substantially reduces artifacts from
noise or film grain. Reductions can be
controlled in a “before and after pre-
view” with respect to the final image.
◆ Color casts resulting from mixed light
conditions can be easily eliminated. Up
to 4 neutral points can be set, and by
means of a special dialog neutral densi-
ty values can be edited. This powerful
tool can be used by just clicking onto
the affected area. For fine tuning edit
fields showing the “before and after”
RGB or CMY values is available.

SilverFast DC
A slightly limited version of HDR. It is designed for 24 bit files,
like the ones generated by most digital cameras.
SilverFast DC enables fast and efficient optimization of all non-com-
pressed RGB-Tiff data from the hard disk. Instead of generating a pre-
scan, a file is loaded from the hard disk. Images from digital cameras
(low- and midrange) will especially benefit from SilverFast's LAB-
Unsharp masking, which doesn’t sharpen the color noise of single
channels, but instead only sharpens the image's edges. Since all steps
of processing can be monitored on the preview, the final processing is more or less one oper-
ation. Loss in quality due to repeated processing can be kept minimal. SilverFast DC contains
all the known features of SilverFast for professional image optimization through an intuitive
and flexible user interface giving you full control at one glance! SilverFast DC can also be
upgraded with SilverFast JobManagement. This allows you to batch correct many images on
the fly, and much more.
