84 Chapter 5 EQ
Multiband EQs
Multiband EQs give you control over a set of filters which together cover a large part of
the frequency spectrum. On multiband EQs, you can set the frequency, bandwidth, and
Q of each band independently. Using a multiband EQ (such as the Channel EQ, Fat EQ,
or Linear Phase EQ), you can perform extensive tone-shaping on any audio source.
Multiband EQs are equally useful for shaping the sound of an individual track or an
overall project mix.
The following sections describe the individual effect included with Logic Studio.

Channel EQ
The Channel EQ is a highly versatile multiband EQ. It gives you eight frequency bands,
including low and highpass filters, low and high shelving filters, and four flexible
parametric bands. It also features an integrated Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) Analyzer
that you can use to view the frequency curve of the audio you want to modify,
allowing you to see which parts of the frequency spectrum need to be boosted or cut.
