Chapter 23 EVD6 363
Stereo Spread
The Stereo Spread control offers two sections: Pickup and Key. You can use both
spread types at the same time. They will automatically be mixed. The area around the
circular Stereo Spread button graphically displays the effect of both stereo spread
parameters.
Pickup
While the original D6 only has a mono output, the EVD6 has stereo capabilities. When
both pickups are active (upper+lower and upper-lower modes), the two pickup signals
can be spread across the stereo spectrum. To adjust the position of the stereo spread,
click-hold on the up/down arrows in the lower half of the circular button—in the
Pickup section.
Turning the Pickup Spread control up will move the signals of both pickups away from
the center position—one to the right, and the other to the left. Set Spread to its
maximum value for extreme left/right panning. Range: 0.00 (center, no effect) to 1.00
(full left/right stereo).
More information on the use of the pickups is found in “Pickup Parameters” on
page 371.
Key
Sets a keyscale modulation of the panning position. The keyboard position determines
the panning. The center position is MIDI note 60 (Yamaha C3). To adjust the Key(board)
position, click-hold on the up/down arrows in the in the Key section (top half) of the
circular button.
When fully turned up, the extreme left/right position will be reached at MIDI note 60
±30 semitones. Range: (center, no effect) to 1.00 (full left/right stereo).
