Controlling Sculptures Surround Range and Diversity
In surround instances, Sculpture’s Extended Parameters area offers the Surround Range
and Surround Diversity parameters:
Surround Range: Determines the range of the surround angle—the breadth of the
surround field. Imagine an LFO routed to a pickup’s pan position with an amount of
1.0. Setting the LFO waveform to sawtooth and the Surround Range to 360 results in
circular movement—around the entire surround circle—of the voice output. The
Surround Range parameter also influences the Key and Pickup spread in the same way.
Surround Diversity: Determines how the output signal is spread across your surround
speakers. If you choose a value of 0, only the speakers closest to the original signal’s
position will carry the signal. A diversity of 1 means that all speakers will carry an
identical amount of the signal.
Working with Sculptures Modulation
Sculpture is equipped with a huge number of modulation sources and targets, making
it a very flexible instrument that can generate extraordinary sounds that constantly evolve,
sound like audio loops, or are just plain expressive to play.
Some of the provided modulation sources are like those found on traditional synthesizer
designs. These include:
Two freely assignable LFOs, with (project) tempo-syncable rates.
A third LFO that is dedicated to vibrato—pitch modulation.
Two envelopes that can be used as standard envelopes. These, however, can also be
used altogether differently.
