Damper: The original D6 features a damper slider on the right side of the keyboard
that mutes the strings. The EVD6’s Damper (wheel) parameter emulates this function.
You can adjust the Damper parameter directly in the interface, or control it with a MIDI
controller (see Using Wah Ctrl, Velo Curve, and Damper Ctrl in the EVD6).
Working with EVD6 Pickup Parameters
The original D6 is equipped with two electromagnetic pickups, much like those found in
electric guitars—one below the strings (lower) and one above the strings (upper).
Upper pickup
Pickup Mode menu
The left Pickup Position value fields
show the value of the top end of each
pickup and the right Position value
fields show the value of the bottom
end of each pickup.
Pickup switches
Lower pickup
Pickup switches: These switches alter the “wiring” of the virtual pickups—and
consequently, the tone of the EVD6. Active switches are indicated by pale aqua lettering.
Pickup Mode pop-up menu: Indicates the chosen combination of pickup switch positions.
You can also use this pop-up menu to choose a pickup mode.
Upper and lower pickups: The two pickups indicate the positions and angles of the
upper (above the strings) and lower (below the strings) pickups. You can directly adjust
the pickup positions and angles by dragging the small dots in the center and at each
end of the pickups. Such changes are reflected in the pickup position value fields.
Pickup Position value fields: The four value fields indicate and correspond to the top
and bottom positions—the dots at both ends—of each pickup. You can directly adjust
these values by using your pointer as a slider—click the value you want to change and
drag it up or down. The upper and lower pickups will move as you change these values.
