Change the syncopation or interpretation of notes
By default, note syncopation and interpretation match the settings chosen in the Region
inspector. You can change interpretation settings for individual notes to improve readability.
When Additional Score Options is selected in the Advanced preferences pane, you can
change syncopation settings for individual notes.
Change a notes Syncopation setting
Do one of the following:
m Choose a setting from the Score Editor’s Functions > Note Attributes > Syncopation submenu.
m Double-click a note, then choose a setting from the Syncopation pop-up menu in the Note
Attributes window.
m Control-click a note head, choose Attributes > Syncopation from the shortcut menu, then choose
an option from the submenu.
m Use one of the following key commands:
Default Syncopation
Force Syncopation
Defeat Syncopation
Change a notes Interpretation setting
Do one of the following:
m Choose a setting from the Score Editor’s Note Attributes > Interpretation submenu.
m Double-click a note, then choose a setting from the Interpretation pop-up menu in the Note
Attributes window.
m Control-click a note head, choose Attributes > Interpretation from the shortcut menu, then
choose an entry from the submenu.
m Use one of the following key commands:
Default Interpretation
Force Interpretation
Defeat Interpretation
