Control channel strip signal ow in the Mixer
Route audio via insert eects
When a plug-in is inserted directly into a channel strip, it is termed an insert eect. The channel
strip’s entire signal is processed by the eect plug-in. This behavior is suitable for equalizers or
dynamic eects, such as compressors. If you have enough processing capacity, you can use up to
15 insert eects on each channel strip.
When multiple eect plug-ins are routed to a channel strip via inserts, they are said to be routed
in series. In this type of conguration, the output of one eect is added to the incoming signal
and becomes the input of the next eect in the chain. The image below illustrates this process.
