Use transform sets
The Presets pop-up menu is shown at the top-left corner of the MIDI Transform window. The
rst 17 items in the menu are write-protected preset templates for common editing tasks,
such as creating crescendos or xing note lengths. For more information, see MIDI Transform
window presets.
You can temporarily change the used parameters of a preset, but all changes are discarded when
you exit the preset.
Depending on your needs, it may be worthwhile to create your own transform sets. These can
be congured and saved as part of a project. (Doing this in your template projects makes your
transform sets available in all projects.) Your transform sets are shown at the bottom of the
Presets pop-up menu.
Use a transform preset
1 Select the MIDI regions or events that you want to transform.
2 Choose a transform set from the Presets pop-up menu. For more information, see MIDI Transform
window presets.
3 In the Mode pop-up menu, choose how you want to transform the selected events within the
regions.
4 Set the selection conditions.
5 Dene the operations you want to perform.
Note: You can deselect the “Hide unused parameters checkbox (turn it o) to show all
conditions and operations, allowing you to make more advanced choices.
6 Do one of the following:
To select all events that meet the selection conditions: Click Select Only. The events will not
be transformed. You can use this option to rene your selection, and make sure that your
conditions only aect the events that you truly want to transform.
To transform all selected events, in accordance with the operations settings: Click Operate Only.
(The selection conditions have no eect.) This is useful if you want to edit events that you’ve
already selected manually.
To select all events that match the conditions, and transform them according to the operations
settings: Click Select and Operate.
Note: The number of selected regions and events (that match the conditions) are displayed
above the selection and operation buttons.
