Export a single MIDI region as a Format 0 MIDI le
1 Choose Logic Pro > Preferences > General, click Project Handling, then select the “‘Export MIDI
File…’ saves single MIDI Regions as Format 0” checkbox.
2 Select a single MIDI region to export.
3 Choose File > Export > Selection as MIDI File.
4 Choose the destination directory, enter a name, then click Save. The selected MIDI region is saved
as a Format 0 MIDI le.
Edit track parameters
Each track has a set of parameters. The parameters available depend on the track type (some
parameters are common to all track types, while some are specic to audio tracks or software
instrument tracks only). You can view and edit parameters for the selected track in the Track
inspector, located below the Region and Event inspectors.
When Show Advanced Tools is selected in the Advanced preferences pane, additional track
parameters are available, including Channel, Freeze Mode, Q-Reference, Delay, Flex Mode, and
Sta Style parameters.
Edit track parameters for the selected track
In the Track inspector, do any of the following:
m Icon button: Click-hold, then choose an icon for the track from the pop-up menu.
m Channel: Shows the channel strip type and number for the track. The Channel parameter is
not editable.
m MIDI Channel pop-up menu: Choose the MIDI channel for the track output. When set to All, all
MIDI events are sent with their original channel settings.
m Freeze Mode pop-up menu: Choose Source Only to freeze the track signal without eect plug-ins,
or choose Pre Fader to freeze the track with all eect plug-ins.
m Q-Reference checkbox (audio tracks only): When selected, all regions on the track contribute their
transients as reference points during the quantization process.
m Flex Mode pop-up menu (audio tracks only): Choose the ex mode for the track.
Depending on which ex mode is chosen, other parameters become available below the Flex
Mode pop-up menu.
m Transpose pop-up menu (software instrument tracks only): Choose the transposition for the track
in octaves.
m Velocity value slider (software instrument tracks only): Click-hold, then drag up or down to increase
or decrease the velocity for notes in all regions on the track.
m Key Limit value slider (software instrument tracks only): Click-hold the lower or upper value, then
drag up or down to change each value. The two values together dene the key range; any notes
outside this range are not played.
m Velocity (Vel) Limit value slider (software instrument tracks only): Click-hold the lower or upper
value, then drag up or down to change each value. The two values together dene the velocity
range; any notes with a velocity outside this range are not played.
m Delay value slider (software instrument tracks only): Click-hold, then drag up or down to increase or
decrease the amount of delay applied to regions on the track.
