Pan knobs: Set panning offsets for each step. Double-click to reset the offset to zero.
Scroll bar: Drag the middle of the scroll bar to view steps that are not visible in the
display area.
Logic Pro Alchemy arpeggiator menu commands
The arpeggiator is shown only in browse or advanced view. Click the Browse or Advanced
button to switch to either view, then click the Arp button in the Perform/Arp/Effects
section.
File button: Opens a pop-up menu with a number of useful arpeggiator pattern
management commands.
Alchemy Arpeggiator file menu items
Preset: Choose from a submenu of preset sequencer patterns.
Save: Save the current sequencer pattern as a new preset.
Copy: Copy the current sequencer pattern to the Clipboard.
Paste: Paste a pattern from the Clipboard to the selected sequencer pattern.
Clear: Reset the selected sequencer pattern to default values.
Randomize: Fill the currently visible pattern with random values.
Import MIDI: Import note, velocity, and timing information from a monophonic pattern,
and set the Pitch, Velocity, and Swing sequence values accordingly.
Use the Logic Pro Alchemy arpeggiator
The arpeggiator is shown only in browse or advanced view. Click the Browse or Advanced
button to switch to either view, then click the Arp button in the Perform/Arp/Effects
section.
Follow the steps outlined in the tasks to use the Alchemy arpeggiator.
Turn the selected arpeggiator on or off in Alchemy
In Logic Pro, click the All/A/B/C/D button to select an arpeggiator, then do one of the
following:
Set the Mode knob to any value other than off to enable the arpeggiator. Set the
Mode knob to Off to stop the arpeggiator.
Set the Latch knob to any value other than off to enable the arpeggiator. Set the
Latch knob to Off to stop the arpeggiator.
Stop the Logic Pro transport.
Create classic arpeggiator patterns in Alchemy
1. In Logic Pro, from the Name bar, click the File button and choose Initialize Preset from
the pop-up menu to reset all Alchemy parameters to default settings.
2. Click the Arp button to show the arpeggiator section. All is selected by default.
3. Turn the Mode knob to select Up, Down, Up/Down, or Down/Up mode.
