Video and synchronization
Logic Pro video and synchronization overview
Logic Pro provides features that let you create or edit the soundtrack of any video or film
project. See Add a movie to your project and Work with absolute time code.
Logic Pro supports most synchronization protocols, allowing you to work with synchronized
external video or film editing and playback hardware, or with video files stored on a locally
attached or networked hard drive. Logic Pro can transmit or receive synchronization data.
It works best transmitting to other devices or applications in your setup. See Logic Pro
Synchronization overview and External synchronization.
Project movie preferences are available when Logic Pro advanced tools and options is
selected in the Advanced preferences pane.
Use movies in Logic Pro
Add a movie to your Logic Pro project
You can view a QuickTime movie file synchronously with your project, making film and TV
scoring quick and easy. Although you can’t record or edit video directly in Logic Pro, you
can replace the soundtrack of a video file with music, Foley, and dialogue arranged in your
project.
You can open a QuickTime movie in a separate Movie window and can also display the
single frames of a QuickTime movie in the global Video track.
