Although you can’t see that all notes continue to sound here, the result looks like this if No
Overlap is turned off:
The solution typically involves turning on No Overlap and using sustain pedal markings.
Pedal markings are automatically displayed if notes are recorded in real time with a MIDI
keyboard and sustain pedal.
Show or hide overlapping notes
Select or deselect the No Overlap checkbox in the Region inspector.
Logic Pro Max Dots region parameter
The Max Dots parameter affects the rhythmic display of dotted notes (notes that are
one-and-one-half times as long as the equivalent undotted note value) by controlling the
maximum number of dots that can be displayed. This makes the display of such notes less
metronomically precise, but makes the score more readable. By default, the number of Max
Dots is 1.
Unwanted dotted notes or rests can be changed by inserting user rests (which remain
invisible, if notes). See Override display quantization in the Logic Pro Score Editor for
information on changing the way notes with ties are displayed).
Set the maximum number of dots
In the Region inspector, do one of the following:
Drag the Max Dots value up or down.
Double-click the Max Dots value, then enter a new value.
Logic Pro Score region parameter
The Score parameter in the Region inspector controls whether MIDI notes in the selected
regions appear in the score. If Hide is chosen in the Score pop-up menu, notes (and other
content) in the selected regions are not displayed in the score at any display level above
the region level.
Exclude selected regions from the score display
In the Region inspector, choose Hide from the Score pop-up menu.
You may need to click the More disclosure triangle to see the Score pop-up menu.
Choose Show from the Score pop-up menu to have the regions appear in the score display.
