Import files using File > Import > Other
You can import various file types, such as AAF, supported MIDI, XML, and project files,
using the File > Import > Other menu command. This is most commonly used to import
Groove Templates. For more information on importing Groove Templates into your project
see Import groove templates to Logic Pro.
1. In Logic Pro, select File > Import > Other (or use the key command).
2. In the Open File window, navigate to the file you wish to open.
3. Click Import.
Search for media files in Logic Pro
You can use the All Files Browser to search for media files by name, as well as view or clear
recent search terms, or add search criteria that allows for a more advanced file search.
The All Files Browser is only available when Show Advanced Tools is selected in the
Advanced preferences pane.
Search for media files by name in the All Files Browser
1. In Logic Pro, click the Browsers button in the control bar, then click All Files.
2. Enter a search term in the search field, then press Return.
3. Speed up your search by restricting it to a particular folder or volume.
To change the visible contents: Click the Computer button , Home button , or
Project button .
The Computer button shows the contents of the local hard disk, optical drive, or
other storage media connected to your computer. The Home button shows the
contents of your home directory. The Project button shows the contents of the
current project folder.
To move through the folder hierarchy: Click the folders in the file path hierarchy, or
use the Back button
or Forward button .
4. To sort the search results, click any of the column headers.
5. Click the small “x”at the right side of the search field to clear the search term.
