2. Choose a patch category from the list on the left, then choose a patch from the list on
the right.
You can quickly move through the patches in the list using the Up and Down Arrow keys.
After you select a new patch, you can start playing it immediately.
When you choose a patch, the left inspector channel strip shows the patch name, along
with the instrument (for software instrument patches) and effects plug-ins the patch uses.
To view presets for a plug-in in the Library, click the space immediately to the left of the
plug-in on the left inspector channel strip. Select the patch name again to return the view
to available patches, so you can choose a different one.
Choose presets in the Logic Pro Library
In addition to patches, you can view and choose the following file types in the Library,
when the corresponding item is selected:
Plug-in presets (.pst)
Channel strip settings (.cst)
Sampler instruments (.exs)
Environment instruments, and programs or banks of MIDI instruments created in the
Audio MIDI Setup utility
View presets for a plug-in in the Library
In Logic Pro, in the inspector, click immediately to the left of the plug-in slot on the left
inspector channel strip.
To view patches again, click immediately to the left of the Setting pop-up menu on the
left inspector channel strip.
Search for patches by name in Logic Pro
You can search for patches by name in the Search field, located just below the patch icon
in the Library. You can quickly compare the search results by selecting and playing them.
Search for a patch
1. In Logic Pro, select the track, then click the Library button if the Library is not
already open.
2. Enter search text in the Search field.
Search results appear below the Search field. You can audition patches by clicking
them, then playing your connected instrument.
