Create a track with an Alchemy plug-in (single files only)
Dragging content to one of the available Alchemy zones creates a software instrument
track with an Alchemy instrument plug-in using the synthesis type you choose: Additive,
Granular, or Spectral.
See the Alchemy chapter in Logic Pro Instruments.
Create a track with a Drum Machine Designer plug-in (single or multiple
files)
Dragging content to the Drum Machine Designer zone creates a software instrument track
with a Drum Machine Designer instrument plug-in using the sliced audio content, and a
MIDI region to trigger the slices. When multiple items are dragged, each file or region is
placed on its own pad in the Drum Machine Designer grid, rather than being sliced and
placed on multiple pads.
See the Drum Machine Designer chapter in Logic Pro Instruments.
Create tracks with a Sampler plug-in (multiple files only)
Dragging multiple audio files to one of the available Sampler zones creates a software
instrument track with a Sampler instrument plug-in using the mapping method you choose.
Sampler (Chromatic Map) maps samples to successive chromatic notes.
Sampler (Optimized Map) maps samples according to analysis of the material.
See the Sampler chapter in Logic Pro Instruments.
Add a track by dragging an audio file, region, or loop to the Tracks area
1. Drag one or more audio files, regions, or Apple Loops to the area below all existing
tracks in the Tracks area.
A track of the corresponding type is added below the existing tracks.
When you drag multiple audio files, regions, or loops, an Add Files to Tracks dialog
appears.
2. For multiple audio files, select whether to create new tracks, use existing tracks, or
place all files one one track.
Add a track by dragging a single file, region, or loop to the track header
area
1. In Logic Pro, do one of the following:
Drag an audio file, region, or Apple Loop to the area below the track headers.
Hold down the Command key and drag an audio file, region, or Apple Loop between
two existing track headers.
