Recording MIDI Takes
While you will usually want to record multiple cycle passes into a single region, take
recording is also an option.
Take recording allows you to record over an existing performance and results in the
creation of a take folder with each recording inside. A common scenario is when you
are recording multiple passes in Cycle mode, but you can also do this by recording over
an existing region.
Getting Ready
Modify the project setting for MIDI Overlapping Recordings:
Control-click the Record button on the Transport bar, then choose Recording Settings 1
from the shortcut menu.
In the Recording pane, choose “Create take folders” from the Overlapping Recordings 2
pop-up menu.
