Try This
Record a software instrument part:
Click the Record button on the Transport bar to start recording. You can also press the 1
Asterisk (*) key on keyboards with a numeric keypad, or the R key on other keyboards.

Recording begins after the predened count-in.
Use your MIDI keyboard (or the Logic Pro Caps Lock keyboard; see Chapter 2) to play 2
some notes.
A MIDI region appears on the software instrument track.
Click the Stop button on the Transport bar (or press the Space bar) once you’re done.3
