Using the AppleCD Audio Player
To play audio tracks, start up your Macintosh, place an audio CD
disc (or a CD-ROM disc with audio tracks) into the caddy, and
insert it into the AppleCD 300i drive.
S Important: A disc must be inside the caddy before you insert
it into the AppleCD 300i.
S
If you insert an audio CD disc, its icon appears on the desktop
with the name Audio CD 1. (If you insert a CD-ROM disc with
audio tracks, its icon appears with the name of the disc.)
After inserting a disc in the CD-ROM drive, you can use the
AppleCD Audio Player on your screen to select and play audio
tracks. It’s designed to look and work much like a standard
remote control unit. You can open the player and start playing an
audio CD at any track. You can also close the player the way you
close any window on your Macintosh screen and the disc will
continue playing.
Follow these instructions to use the AppleCD Audio Player:
1. Put the caddy containing your disc into the drive.
2. Choose AppleCD Audio Player from the Apple (K)
menu.
The AppleCD Audio Player opens.
When the CD-ROM drive is empty, the AppleCD Audio Player
shows no information in the track number or elapsed time
display. When a disc with no audio tracks is in the drive, dashes
appear across the display.
When a disc is first placed in the drive, the player is set to begin
with track 1. You can click the Track buttons to select any track
and click the Play/Pause button to begin playing. As the disc plays,
the player shows the current track and elapsed time. The controls
on the AppleCD Audio Player are explained in the following
sections.
