4At the UNIX prompt, type the following to run the SMIT utility:
smit
5 To add a remote queue, choose the following items from the SMIT menu:
Print System Management
Add a Print Queue
Remote
Standard Processing
A form appears for you to define a remote printer.
6Enter information into the remote printer form, as follows:
m
Name of queue to add
Type the local queue name users will use as the name
for the printer.
m
Host name of remote server
Typ e th e printer IP name assigned to the printer
as described in “Step 3: Assigning an IP Address to the Printer,” earlier in
this chapter.
m
Name of queue on remote printer
Typ e text if you want to append a carriage
return to the end of each line to be printed or
raw if you dont. (Since the
printer doesnt otherwise need this remote printer queue name, it uses the
name as a flag to determine whether it should add a carriage return to the
end of each line.)

Type of print spooler or remote server
Select BSD.
7Click Do.
8Click Done.
9Choose Exit from the Exit menu.
