iMac (Early 2006 17-inch) Take Apart — CPU Fan
Removing the CPU Fan
Disconnect the CPU fan cable from the logic board.
Remove the logic board.
Lift the CPU fan straight up to remove it from two mounting posts.
Replacing the CPU Fan
Align the CPU fan with the two mounting posts in the rear housing, and push it straight
down onto the posts.
Replace the logic board.
Connect the CPU fan cable to the logic board connector.
Replace the speakers.
Replace the display panel.
Replace the lower EMI shield.
Replace the front bezel.
Replace the memory.
Replace the access door.
