iMac (Early 2006 17-inch) Take Apart — Power Supply
Disconnect the power supply cable in the top left corner of the photo).
Pull out the power supply-to-AC line lter cable from beneath the metal chassis. Disconnect
the connectors.
Replace the Power Supply
Position the power supply loosely in its mounting location.
Route the power supply end of the power supply-to-AC line lter cable beneath the chassis.
Connect the two connectors. Tuck the cable beneath the chassis and away from the hard
drive bay.
Connect the DC power cable.
Install the machine screw in the lower right corner of the power supply. Then install the three
self-tapping screws.
Replace the hard drive.
Replace the display panel.
Replace the lower EMI shield.
Replace the front bezel.
Replace the access door.
