iMac (Early 2006 17-inch) Take Apart — Bluetooth Antenna 119
Replace the Wireless Antenna
Locate the antenna mounting channel inside the top right corner of the rear housing, and
position the antenna in the channel. Compress the sticky side of the antenna to the housing
until securely fastened.
Route the antenna cable and insert the connector end of the cable through the access hole
in the EMI skirt.
Secure the antenna cable at the top with EMI tape.
Carefully replace the EMI shield at the top. Using a black stick, work out all wrinkles and
bubbles until the EMI tape is smooth and tight.
Replace the optical drive.
Replace the CPU fan
Replace the logic board.
Connect the Bluetooth antenna.
Connect the IR cable.
Connect the AirPort antenna.
Replace the speakers.
Replace the display panel.
Replace the lower EMI shield.
Replace the front bezel.
Replace the memory access door.
