3.1 Mac mini (Early or Late 2009 systems) (continued)
The nal step is to attach the combination SATA data and power cable to
the optical drive connector on the interposer board. This is a very tight t
and you will need to be careful to avoid damaging the connector. Once you
get the combination connector attached, you need to route the cables so
they will not be pinched when you close the top cover of the Mac mini. If
you want to attach the cables to the top of your drive, you can use Kapton
tape (not included) to fasten the cables down to the top of your hard drive
mechanism.
You can route the red SATA cable on its side and tuck it between the hard
drive and the mini SATA plug on the interposer board, but there is enough
clearance above the hard drive that you do not have to do that. It can also
be taped at right onto the hard drive.
