iMac (Early 2006 20-inch) Take Apart — Optical Drive 72
Locate the black release levers on the mounting bracket. Using a at-blade screwdriver as
shown, press straight down at the base of the release lever, while pushing the release lever
toward the center of the drive. Pressing down disengages the lever from the chassis. Repeat
the process to unhook the other release lever. Refer to step 4 for another visual aide.
Repeat the release process on the second lever. Press down with the screwdriver, press the
lever inward, toward the center of the optical drive. Lift the drive out of the housing.
