4. Disconnect all third-party USB devices. If the symptom is resolved, the mouse is OK
and the issue is with one of the third-party USB devices. Reconnect each USB device
until the issue reappears. Refer to the third-party USB company for compatibility
information.
The pointer moves, but clicking the mouse has no effect
1. Start up from the Software Restore disc that came with the computer. If OK,
troubleshoot extensions or reinstall system software.
2. Reset Parameter RAM by holding down Command-Option-P-R at when you turn on
the computer.
3. If the mouse is connected to the keyboard, connect the mouse to one of the USB ports
on the computer instead. If the mouse works, replace the keyboard.
4. Disconnect all third-party USB devices. If the symptom is resolved, the mouse is OK
and the issue is with one of the third-party USB devices. Reconnect each USB device
until the symptom reappears. Refer to the third-party USB company for compatibility
information.
5. If the mouse is connected to one of the USB ports on the computer, try the other USB
port.
6. Replace the mouse.
