Projects
This chapter covers the following:
About Editing Final Cut Studio Project Assets (p. 129)
Checking Out, Editing, and Checking In Bundle Assets (p. 130)
Checking Out, Editing, and Checking In Final Cut Studio Projects and Their Media
Files (p. 132)
Exporting a Project Asset and Its Media (p. 137)
This chapter is similar to Chapter 6, Working with Final Cut Pro Projects,” in that it
explains how to perform the tasks explained in Chapter 6 for Motion, Soundtrack Pro,
and DVD Studio Pro projects and their linked media files that are being managed by
Final Cut Server. However, working with Final Cut Studio project and media assets
requires different strategies than working with Final Cut Pro project assets. Be sure to
read both chapters so you can familiarize yourself with the different ways of working
with Final Cut Pro and Final Cut Studio project assets and their linked media files.
About Editing Final Cut Studio Project Assets
Final Cut Server can manage Soundtrack Pro, Motion, and DVD Studio Pro project
assets and their linked media files.
Unlike Final Cut Pro project assets, Final Cut Studio project assets do not contain
elements that represent the project’s linked media files. Therefore, the media files that
are referenced by a Final Cut Studio project asset must be explicitly tracked by
Final Cut Server users. Final Cut Server provides two methods for managing
Final Cut Studio projects and their linked media files.
