Searching Devices
Final Cut Server includes the ability to search any connected device. This allows you to
examine the contents of a device, including items that have not been added to the
Final Cut Server catalog.
Opening the Search Devices Window
You open the Search Devices window from the Final Cut Server client’s Server
pop-up menu.
To open the Search Devices window:
1 Choose Search Devices from the Server pop-up menu (the pop-up menu in the
Final Cut Server main window that appears when you click the Server button).
The Search Devices window for searching appears.
Click the Server button
and choose Search Devices
from the pop-up menu.
You can click the Catalog
button once you select
one or more files. This
adds the assets to the
Final Cut Server catalog.
Click Choose to navigate
to a specific folder to
search in.
Click the triangle to see
advanced search options.
Choose whether to
search for all files,
composite clips, or
image sequences.
Click a column heading
to sort by that column.
Choose the device
to search.
