Turn o or remove an eect from a clip
When you apply an eect to a clip, you can either turn o the eect (but retain its
settings) or remove the eect from the clip.
Turn o a clip eect
1 Select the clip with the eect in the Timeline.
2 Do one of the following:
Choose Clip > Show Video Animation (or press Control-V) to see video eects or Â
choose Clip > Show Audio Animation (or press Control-A) to see audio eects, select
the eect, and click its checkbox.
Select the eect in the Video inspector or Audio inspector, and click its Â
blue checkbox.
The eect no longer aects the video or audio. You can click the checkbox again to
turn the eect back on, with its settings still intact.
Remove an eect from a clip
1 Select the clip with the eect in the Timeline.
2 Do one of the following:
Choose Clip > Show Video Animation (or press Control-V) to see video eects or Â
choose Clip > Show Audio Animation to see audio eects, select the eect, and
press Delete.
Select the eect in the Video inspector or Audio inspector, and press Delete. Â
Create specialized versions of the video eects in Motion
Many of the supplied video eects were created using Motion, an Apple application
designed to work with Final Cut Pro. You can open any of these eects in Motion,
make modications, and save the changes as a new eect that appears in the
Eects Browser.
Important: The following steps require you to have Motion 5 installed on
your computer.
Modify a video eect in Motion
1 Click the Eects button in the toolbar.
2 In the Eects Browser, Control-click the eect you want to modify, and choose “Open a
copy in Motion from the shortcut menu.
Motion opens and the eects project appears.
