Changing the Product Type Selection from Clients Option
By default, the Allow Clients to Change Product Types option is
deselected, which causes client computers to use the product type (Kurzweil
3000 Professional Color or Black & White, or Kurzweil 3000 LearnStation)
that was specified during the client’s installation. If this option is disabled,
users cannot change the product type from its current selection.
When you select this option, each user can select the product type that he or
she wants to use when logging in to a Kurzweil 3000 client computer.
You might want to disable this option if your site has a limited number of
Kurzweil 3000 Professional licenses and you want to ensure their availability
to specific clients machines, most likely ones that have a scanner attached.
Note: The ability to run a specific Kurzweil 3000 product depends on the
current availability of a license for the selected product.
To change the Allow Clients to Create Accounts:
1. Start the Administrator, and choose an Administration option from the
Starting Points window. See Starting the Administrator on page 35.
2. In the Administrator window, click Settings.
3. In the Settings window, select/deselect Allow Clients to Change
Product Types as desired.
4. Click OK to close the Settings window.
