Chapter 3. Administering the Kurzweil 3000 Network
Kurzweil 3000 for Macintosh Network Guide 51
Changing the Engine Name
When you initially install a Kurzweil 3000 Engine, an Engine Name is
assigned. The name can be either the default name, which is automatically
derived from the name of the Macintosh on which the Engine is installed, or
a more preferred name which you entered manually.
The effect of changing the Engine Name is that you will need to reselect the
new Engine Name on client computers.
To change the Engine Name:
1. Start the Administrator and choose an Administration option from the
Starting Points window. See Starting the Administrator on page 35.
2. In the Administrator window, click Settings.
3. In the Settings window, type a new name into the Engine Name text box.
4. Click OK to close the Settings window.
5. Go to each Kurzweil 3000 client computer and startup Kurzweil 3000.
When the Set Engine window appears, select the new Engine name
from the Rendezvous menu.
