Starting the Administrator
This section details starting the Administrator. It covers starting up the
Administrator to administer both local and remote Engines.
To start the Administrator:
1. Double-click the Kurzweil 3000 Administrator icon.
If the Macintosh from which you are running the Administrator does not
have an Engine installed, and this is the first time you are running the
Administrator on this Macintosh, you are prompted to install an Engine.
This is optional. If you don’t want to install an Engine click No to proceed.
If you want to install an Engine, see Installing the Kurzweil 3000 Engine
and Product Licenses on page 14.
The Starting Points window appears. It contains two options.
2. Click the appropriate Administration option.
If you choose Administer this computer, the Administrator window
appears, displaying information for this Engine. See Using the Kurzweil
3000 Administrator on page 37, for information about Administrator
features and functions.
Note: If there is no Engine installed on the local computer, the
Administer this computer option is unavailable.
