Check List for Installing and Configuring the
Streaming Server Software
To install and configure the Interplay Streaming Server, complete the steps in the following
check list.
Task Section Reference
Install an Interplay license file that includes
a license for each Interplay Streaming
Server in the workgroup.
See “Installing a Permanent License” in the
Interplay Engine and Interplay Archive Engine
Administration Guide or the Interplay Help.
Install the Avid shared storage client
software on the system on which you are
going to install the Interplay Streaming
Server.
See “Set Up and Configure an Avid Shared
Storage System” on page 22.
Install Interplay Access on the system on
which you are going to install the Interplay
Streaming Server.
Interplay Access is needed for the Media
Indexer lookup.
“Installing Interplay Access” on page 69.
(Optional) Install the Avid Service
Framework on the system on which you are
going to install the Interplay Streaming
Server.
“Installing Interplay Access” on page 69.
Select an account that the Interplay
Streaming Server will run under.
You must use the Server Execution Account
that is used for the Interplay Engine. This
user needs to be a member of the local
administrators group and must have the
rights to start services. If necessary, the
required rights for this user are
automatically set during the installation
process.
An account with an identical user name and
password must have read/write access to the
Avid shared storage workspaces that contain
media. You use the Avid ISIS
Administration tool to create this account.
