Step 1 - Create a New Project. When you open DVD Studio Pro, a new project is automatically created.
SavethenewprojectbyselectingFile>Save,andstoretheleinyourprojectfolder.
Step2-ImportAssets.TherststepistoimportallthelesyouintendonusinginyourDVD.This
includesencodedvideoandaudioles,pictures,music,PhotoshopMenus,etc.Alloftheseelementsshouldbe
organized in a project folder before you import them. For this simple DVD, we just need an encoded video and
audio asset.
To import an asset, click the Import Asset button on the menu bar at the top of the DVD Studio Pro lay-
out. All assets show up in the Asset Window at the bottom left-hand corner of the screen.
Step 3 - Create a New Track. Let’s assume that our new DVD only needs one video track and a main
menulinkingtothattrack.Werstneedtocreatethevideotrack.Whenyoustartanewproject,DVDStudio
Pro automatically creates a track and a menu. To view the contents of a track, select the track from the graphi-
cal or outline view, then select the Track Tab in the Track Timeline Window.

Creating a DVD
The following section will walk you through the process of creating a simple DVD in DVD Studio Pro.
You will need to have an endcoded video ready, complete with audio. For instructions on how to encode video
properlyforaDVD,seetheCompressorsectionearlierinthisguide.Havetheselesreadyinsideyourproject
folder before you begin.
