5 Click the Submit button in the Batch window.
Compressor begins transcoding the Final Cut Pro project.
Note: Once the Final Cut Pro or Motion project opens in Compressor, you can continue
working in Final Cut Pro or Motion on that project or a different project.
See Using Distributed Processing from Final Cut Pro and Motion for information on how
this process works if you are using distributed processing.
Resubmitting a Project
You can use the History window to resubmit a Final Cut Pro or Motion project, the same
way as you resubmit any other batch. Compressor resubmits the project as it was when
originally submitted; any changes that have been made to the project since the original
submission are ignored.
See Resubmitting a Batch for details about the steps in this process.
Using Distributed Processing from Final Cut Pro and Motion
Compressor and Apple Qmaster can distribute video and audio compression tasks over
multiple computers connected to a network.
There are three ways you can take advantage of distributed processing from Final Cut Pro
or Motion:
Use This Computer Plus: After you have configured your Share menu setting in
Final Cut Pro or Motion, you can choose This Computer Plus. Final Cut Pro and Motion
will search the local network for computers that have Compressor installed and
configured to provide unmanaged distributed processing services.
Note: You may need to authenticate yourself. See Apple Qmaster and Distributed
Processing for more details.
Choose a cluster: After you have configured your Share menu setting in Final Cut Pro
or Motion, you can choose a distributed processing cluster on your local network.
Important: Choosing a cluster requires you to have your Final Cut Pro or Motion projects
media on a drive that can be mounted by all computers in the cluster. See Optimizing
Distributed Processing for Final Cut Pro and Motion for more information.
