This ensures that this preset creates only an elementary audio stream and sets the le
extension to .m1a.
Deselect to disable
the Video tab.
The file extension
changes to .m1a once
the Video tab is disabled.
Stage 3: Open the Audio tab and congure audio settings for DVD
1 To open the Audio tab, click the Audio button in the MPEG-1 Encoder pane of the Inspector.
2 Select the Enabled checkbox.
Choose the 48 kHz
sample rate.
Select either Stereo
or Mono.
Select to enable
the Audio tab.
Choose the bit rate.
3 Choose 48 kHz from the Sample Rate pop-up menu.
4 Select Stereo when using two-channel audio sources, and Mono when using one-channel
audio sources.
5 Choose the bit rate to use from the Bit Rate pop-up menu.
The typical values used for DVD projects are 192 kbps and 224 kbps.
6 To save the MPEG-1 Audio for DVD preset, click Save.
To make it easy to use this and the MPEG-1 video presets with a source, you can create an
MPEG-1 for DVD preset group. For more information, see Example: Create custom groups and
settings for DVD on page 41.
