Separation Upon completion of the transfer, the gripper solenoid (SL4) is turned
on and the gripper opens to raise the leading edge of the paper. The
separation claw solenoid (SL5) is also turned on to actuate the separa-
tion claw, which then scoops up the leading edge of the paper to sepa-
rate the paper from the transfer drum. The separation of the paper is
detected by the separation sensor (PS7).
