Using a hard disk
You can add an external hard disk to the printer. A hard disk can store many
soft fonts so they don’t need to be downloaded each time you use them, thus
expediting your printer. Chapter 5 of the Color LaserWriter 12/600 PS User’s
Manual explains how to install a hard disk.
Adding a hard disk to the device list
1From the Program Manager, open the Control Panel.
2Double-click the Printers icon.
The Printers dialog box appears.
3If it is not already selected, select the Color LaserWriter 12/660 PS from the Installed
Printers list.
4Click Setup.
The Setup dialog box appears.
Note: You can also open the Setup dialog box from within many Windows
programs. Check your program documentation to see if you can change your
printer setup from within your program.
5Click Fonts.
6Click Font Downloader.
The Font Downloader dialog box appears.
7Click Device Installer.
A dialog box opens.
8Click Add New.
Another dialog box opens.
9Make sure “Magnetic disk” is selected, then click Add.
