Understanding Badge Overlays
When you apply adjustments, keywords, or other changes to an image, Aperture marks
the image with a badge overlay. Badges can appear on images in the Viewer, the Browser,
and the Light Table, in book pages and webpages, and in Full Screen view.

How Badge Overlays Appear in Aperture
The following table shows badges that appear on images in Aperture.

One or more adjustments have been applied to the image.

One or more keywords have been applied to the image.
Images are contained in a stack. The number indicates the number
of images in the stack.
The image has been edited with an external editor, and is therefore
represented by the master created when the file was exported to
the external editor.
