Telescoping Frost-Proof Hydrant
VALVES
The chrome-plated brass Telescoping Anti-Siphon Frost-Free Hydrant is an innovative sillcock designed
to make the installation or replacement of an existing sillcock a seamless experience. With its patented
telescoping mechanism, this frost-proof hydrant can be installed to cover depths from 7 in. to 12 in. to
provide maximum protection against frozen or burst pipes. Apollo offers connection inlets with male
hose thread, solder, PEX-A barb, PEX-B barb, or push to connect. The telescopic action is achieved by
simply twisting the tightening collar counter-clockwise to the desired length as indicated by the laser
etched measurement makings on the body. Once the desired length is achieved, simply tighten the collar
into place using the proprietary wrench.

Installation:
1. Determine the location for installation. To operate as designed, the hydrant must be installed into a heated area of the structure that will not drop below freezing.
2. A 1¼ in. hole is required in order for the hydrant to be installed.
3. Freeze-proof hydrants require a slight downward pitch to assist the draining process once the valve is completely closed.
4. Install the spout of the hydrant in the downward position.
5. Connect the water supply to the freeze-proof hydrant according to package directions.
6. Once the water supply connection is made and proves leak-free, secure the hydrant to the structure using appropriate screws through the two holes on the casted flange.
7. The hydrant will drain for a few moments once the valve is turned to the off position. If the dripping continues, tighten the valve handle until the dripping stops. DO NOT
OVERTIGHTEN THE HYDRANT.
Telescoping Instructions:
1. With the valve handle facing you, turn the adjustment nut clockwise to loosen using the adjustment wrench (included).
2. Pull the inner tube (opposite the valve end) to the desired length utilizing the laser etched markings. In the event that the inner tube resists telescoping, bump the inner tube
with your hand to “roll” the o-ring into position and to free the inner tube.
3. Once the hydrant is telescoped to the desired length, tighten the adjustment nut counter-clockwise using the adjustment wrench (included) until snug.
