System Design, Preplanning, and Layout
It is recommended that the system layout be planned in advance so
that on-site system setup can be quick and effective. Loudspeakers
should be placed into a tree structure consisting of Rooms, Arrays,
and Subarrays. The organization of the system at this point will
greatly impact how easily the system can be tuned and controlled
later.
Creating Rooms, Arrays, Subarrays, and Speakers
Create a room by selecting New Room under the Tree drop-down
menu. Name the room. In order to create an array, the room in
which the array can be found must be highlighted first. Once the
proper room is highlighted, select New Array under the Tree drop-
down menu. The same applies for subarrays. In order to create a
subarray, the array under which it can be found must be highlighted
first. Select New Subarray under the Tree drop-down menu. There
are no limits to the number of Rooms, Arrays, and Subarrays the
system can have.
When creating a speaker it is not necessary to highlight anything. It
will automatically appear in the “Speakers” section and then must
be dragged to the Room, Array, or Subarray.
In order to remove a room, array, subarray, or speaker, highlight the
item in question and click on the scissors icon on the toolbar and click
on “Yes” when it asks “Are you sure?
If you remove a room, array, or subarray, you will automatically
remove everything found within it.
Many of these same functions are available by right-clicking your
mouse.
