501 Super-Flash
®
Roof & Flashing Sealant is a unique
professional grade elastomeric ashing and repair product that cures to a long
lasting rubber and elastic repair. This 50 year product is designed to provide a
exible seal through extreme temperature ranges. Its non-sag properties and
exceptional adhesion guarantee that Super-Flash is the ideal product for the
construction and repair of all ashings, parapet walls, copings and chimneys.
This product is ideally suited for sealing splits, cracks, holes and built-up
roofs (asphalt and coal tar), and modied bitumen membranes. It may also
be used as a topical repair for EPDM rubber sheets. Super-Flash can be used
to seal leaks on damp or wet surfaces and even works as a temporary repair
in standing water. This is not designed as an adhesive product. Do not use for
adhering shingle tabs or any other roong materials.
PREPARATION: Download the APOC APP for detailed installation instructions,
videos, tips and specications. Completely read all application instructions
and check weather conditions prior to starting any work. All surfaces must be
completely clean, have proper drainage and be free of surface rust, dust and
any other foreign matter. For longevity and UV protection, it is recommended
to protect repairs with the application of a reective coating after they have
cured for 30 - 90 days. DO NOT HEAT OR THIN products.
FOR BEST RESULTS: Apply when surface temperatures are between 40 °F and
120 °F. In colder weather, product should be stored in heated room (65 °F to
80 °F.) at least 24 hours prior to application. Product formulated to be used
year-round.
FALL PROTECTION WARNING: Always use personal fall protection devices
and follow procedures in accordance with OSHA and local regulatory
requirements when walking or working on roofs. Use safety equipment such
as tie-offs, safety lines, body harnesses, toe boards and ladders. Dusty, damp
or wet conditions as well as certain shoes can result in slippery surfaces
and create a fall hazard. Always be cognizant of where you are in relation
to your surroundings, including but not limited to: the edge of the roof, any
projections, skylights and any other objects which could cause you to slip or
fall. Falling from a roof can result in serious harm or death.
APPLICATION: For exterior use only. Protective clothing, gloves and eyewear
should be used during application of these products. Puncture foil seal
at inner base inside the nozzle. Apply with a caulking gun and if needed,
smooth with a putty knife. Work material to an even consistency over and
into the area to be repaired. Apply 1/4” thick, two or three inches beyond
the problem area. It is highly recommended to reinforce the repair with a
strip of APOC reinforcing fabric. Embed fabric into the cement and cover
with a second layer of cement. Form a feathered edge with cement where
chimneys, vent pipes, and other projections meet the roof line.
CLEAN-UP: Tools are best cleaned with Xylene, but paint thinner or mineral
spirits will work on fresh product.
