PROCEDURES
PREPARING DEVICE FOR SERVICE
Use the Supervisor Menu on the device or connect via Telnet to configure the following information:
1. Network Type. Configure the method the device is communicating; either by DHCP (default setting) or
with a static IP address.

Option #1 Change Network Configuration
2. Network Settings.
When communicating via DHCP configure the Hostname (the default is Cnnnnnn where nnnnnn is the last
6 digits of the device's MAC address.

Option #2 IP Settings, #1 Network Type, #2 Hostname (view only)
Telnet Menu
Option #1 Change Network Configuration, #2 DHCP, press enter to save the default.
When communicating via a static IP address, configure the IP address, Subnet, and Gateway.
Supervisor Menu
Option #2 IP Settings, #1 Network Type, #4 IP Address, #2 Set IP Addr.
Option #2 IP Settings, #1 Network Type, #5 Subnet, #2 Set Subnet.
Option #2 IP Settings, #1 Network Type, #6 Gateway, #2 Set Gateway.
Telnet Menu
Option #1 Change Network Configuration, #1 Static. Enter the IP address, Subnet, and Gateway
or press enter to save the default.
3. Remote Port. This value must be unique for each device. The value must be greater than 10001 and less
than 65535, ports 14000 and 14009 are reserved and cannot be used.
The value may be set to 0 on the device. The device acquires the value from the communications software
automatically.

Option #2 IP Settings, #8 Remote Port, #2 Set IP Port.
Telnet Menu
Option #2 Advanced Menu Options, #2 UDP, press Enter to reach the prompt 'Please Enter the
UDP remote port' option. Enter the value and press Enter to use the default settings for the
remaining prompts.
